Provision of life-saving Nutrition community-based services for the vulnerable people in North-West Syria.

AFAQ is manging 15 RRTs “rapid response teams “in rural Aleppo and Idleb governorates

The scope of services:

1- CMAM & IYCF programs:

– Screening, treatment, referral and follow up children 6-59, pregnant and lactating women who are malnourished

– Distribute micronutrients for preventing anaemia and malnutrition among children and pregnant, lactating women

– Disseminate messages on IYCF-E recommended feeding practices,

– Monitor distribution and use of breast milk substitutes

– Support health/nutrition education and promotion through IEC materials in line with cluster recommendations during COVID 19 pandemic,

– Nutrition Supplements distribution

– Integrating nutrition supplementation with other routine child and antenatal services.

The proposed intervention will be integrated with other services provided by other sectors as follows:

Integration with Health, Wash and Child protection Services through:

– Screen, referral CU5 & PLWs with dangers signs and Medical problems

– Referral of medical cases to the nearby health facilities.

– Support hygiene promotion.

– Rising Wash awareness by providing Key messages (Hand Washing, Food Processing,).

– Identify visual signs of abuse/violence against child U5 and PLWs during Nutrition screening.
